How does ChatGPT make money?

ChatGPT has become a sensation. Over the past few months it has taken Internet by storm. Some experts in the field of artificial intelligence have stated that it can revolutionize the interaction between humans and AI in the near future. Even though it’s a free AI language model, its primary purpose is to engage users in a wide range of conversational tasks as well as to assist them in various ways. However in order to operate and constantly improve it needs financial security and assistance, so have you also been searching on how does it generate revenue?

By - Mamta Sahni

Let’s explore this topic further and learn more about it. Keep Reading!

 But First, What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI, designed to understand and generate human-like text based on the input it receives from the users. OpenAI is an artificial intelligence research organization and the specific version of the model that we are currently using is based on the GPT 3.5 architecture. It assists users from giving suggestions to language translations to providing perfect routine for your workout.

Now the main question, how does it makes money?

As OpenAI is an independent and private organization, the details about its revenue are not made publicly available.  Although for now it’s available for free in public domain providing some basic features and technologies, however there are ways on how it earns money in below listed points :

1) Licensing :

The licensing fees that OpenAI collects from people who use its models or products account for the vast majority of its income. These services are paid for each unit by OpenAI. For instance, the Dall-E picture creation model costs between $0.016 and $0.020 per image when calculated on a unit basis.

In the meanwhile, tokens are used to price language models. One token equals around 750 words, hence the models are charged on a token basis. OpenAI can dramatically boost the spread of its models by integrating into, for instance, Microsoft's current client ecosystem. As a result, OpenAI's revenue from licencing fees rises.

2)  Subscriptions :

The most recent revenue generation for OpenAI came from the launch of ChatGPT Plus, a premium version of their chatbot that costs $20 per month. Users who subscribe have priority access to computing. Free users can still access ChatGPT in the meantime, although it is prone to outages during periods of heavy demand.

It's interesting to note that OpenAI intends to keep ChatGPT free to use, presumably in order to collect input to enhance the output of its language models.

3) Partnerships and Collaborations :

In addition to partnerships and cooperation with other organisations, OpenAI also makes money by licencing its technology to other businesses. Their most significant collaboration is with Microsoft, which will provide $10 billion to OpenAI in 2023.

4) Investments :

Utilising the OpenAI Startup Fund, which the company established in May 2021, OpenAI makes investments in businesses with an AI focus. The fund has a $100 million total size. "This is not your typical corporate venture fund," creator and CEO Sam Altman said during the fund's opening. We want to place significant early wagers on a manageable number of businesses—probably no more than 10—in the near future. In return for its investment, OpenAI acquires an equity position, and it later generates money by selling its shares at a premium over their original cost.

Conclusion:

ChatGPT is a strong AI bot that engages in human-like discourse in response to a request. It is intended to respond in a natural, intuitive manner and has several possible applications. The bot became immediately popular among individuals and business alike after its first debut in November 2022, and it quickly surpassed 1 million members.

There are concerns about the bot’s potential exploiation by hackers, disinformation spreaders, and other negative actors.

OpenAI, the firm that created ChatGPT, has proposed a paid membership plan for a premium version of the chatbot and is mulling a tender offer worth $29 billion.

Finally, ChatGPT's income generating methodology is diverse, relying on both direct and indirect tactics. ChatGPT, an OpenAI product, is available as a subscription-based service, with several plan levels offering different functionality and use restrictions. This subscription model enables people and corporations to take use of ChatGPT's extensive language processing capabilities, which are tailored to their unique requirements.

Furthermore, OpenAI uses ChatGPT's technology in specific corporate solutions, meeting organisations' needs for specialised AI-powered applications. This business-to-business model allows OpenAI to enter a profitable industry by supporting businesses in optimising operations and improving consumer relations.

Poetry : Voice Of Teenagers

 Voice Of Teenagers

                                                       ----- By Pushpita Sengupta

My child is horrible

All the time engages herself with the phone

Doing house hold work is kind of impossible

Why don't you understand my words that are so simple ?

Look at Nittu ,how well she dance

Can't you ask Rita what are her plans

How quiet and lovely Sita is ?

Why don't you follow the way she is ?

Don't go out ,stay at home

Please beta ,don't stick to the phone

Why are you so loud ? What happened to your tone ?

Oh I understood the real culprit is the phone .

Always online game game and game

Don't you have any shame ?

Nowadays you are in a fame

Just because on you everyone has a claim

To whom will I say ?

That my daughter never understands my pain

Do you know didi ?

My son ignores what I suggest

At this teenage

She is facing so stress

Ohh God all my money is going in medicate

But still she is not ready to communicate.

Hello aunty! Why are you doing so gage ?

Keeping your child In a cage why are you acting like a sage ?

Don't you know the reason behind their Rage ?

Something they are Hiding

You know very well

But at the beginning when they tried to say

Did you listen ?

They will not go out ,not they will play

But when they told " please give us some time " did you say ok ?

When tube light is  a signal of the starting of the day

How will they stay fit ?

Now you say

Uncle, Sita can't be like  Nittu

As Nittu is Nittu

Your child is your child

Why are you comparing with Ritu ?

It is parents,only parents

Who can cure this with little patience

Take them to a nice restaurant

And say them about all their talents

Then you see that moment

When your child will forget about all thei arguments

They will also agree with your judgement

And one day they will prove that they are brilliant.

It is very important for you parents to know

What actually your child wants to show

And after that they will throw

Their phone outside their minds window

So what if in their lunchbox thier is no meat?

They will not even look at thier outfit

They will love to talk with the people everywhere they meet .

The Future of AI and Its Relationship with CEOs

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly advancing and becoming intertwined with all aspects of business and society. As AI technology progresses, it will increasingly impact CEO leadership, organizational structure, and the way work is performed. In this document, we will explore the current state and future of AI, and how it affects CEOs and their role in business.

What is AI?

AI refers to the development of computers that can perform tasks that would normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and language translation. It involves machine learning algorithms, deep learning neural networks, and natural language processing systems that enable computers to learn, understand, and interact with humans.

Current State of AI

Industry Growth

The AI market is predicted to grow from $21.5 billion in 2018 to $190 billion by the year 2025, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 36.62%. The industry growth is attributed to increased efficiency, cost reduction, and improved performance.

Applications of AI

AI is being utilized in various industries such as healthcare, finance, education, transportation, and logistics. Popular applications of AI include chatbots, image recognition, predictive analytics, and autonomous vehicles.

Limitations of AI

The current limitations of AI include the lack of creativity and intuition, the inability to explain decision-making, and the risk of biased algorithms. There are also ongoing concerns about job displacement and data privacy.

Impacts of AI on Business and Society

"The impact of AI will be profound... But we must back these new technologies with ethical norms, principles, and values to create a world that is just, humane, and equitable."

- Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft

The impact of AI on business and society is complex and far-reaching. AI has the potential to transform industries, increase productivity, and improve customer experience. However, it also poses challenges such as job displacement, ethical considerations, and social inequality. It is important for businesses and governments to address these impacts responsibly and with foresight.

Challenges of AI Utilization

Data Quality

AI algorithms require access to extensive high quality training data. Low quality  data can produce biased or inaccurate results.

Regulatory Compliance

AI is subject to numerous legal, ethical, and security regulations. Compliance is necessary to protect privacy and prevent misuse of data.

User Acceptance

AI is still a relatively new technology, and many users are wary of entrusting machines with sensitive tasks. Building trust and user acceptance is essential for widespread utilization.

How AI Changes the Role of CEOs

Decision-Making

AI can assist CEOs in data analysis and informed decision-making, but they must still use their critical thinking skills to interpret the results and make final decisions.

Leadership Style

CEOs will need to adapt their leadership style to manage employees that work alongside machines or face job loss due to automation. They will also need to establish a culture of trust, transparency, and openness around the use of AI.

Education and Training

CEOs and other executives will need training on how to use and integrate AI into their business operations effectively. They will also need to educate their workforce on the impact of AI and upskill or reskill employees that are affected by automation.

Future of AI in Business Leadership

Automation

AI-powered automation will increase organizational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve accuracy.

Automation can be applied to various fields and industries, including manufacturing, transportation, finance, healthcare, customer service, and more. It typically involves the use of machines, robots, or computer programs to carry out repetitive or complex tasks that would otherwise require human effort.

Machine Learning

Advancements in machine learning will enable AI to learn and improve without additional programming or human intervention.

Machine learning can be a powerful tool in the field of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to improve website rankings and visibility. By leveraging machine learning algorithms, SEO professionals can analyze large amounts of data, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions to optimize websites for search engines

Augmented Reality

AI-powered augmented reality technologies will enhance customer experience and create new opportunities for businesses to connect with customers.

Augmented Reality (AR) refers to the technology that combines virtual elements with the real world, allowing users to interact with digital content in a real-world environment. AR enhances the perception of reality by overlaying computer-generated images, videos, or information onto the physical world, typically through the use of devices such as smartphones, tablets, smart glasses, or headsets.

Neural Networks

Neural networks are being used in finance, healthcare, and transportation to improve decision-making and risk management.

Neural networks, also known as artificial neural networks (ANNs) or deep learning models, are a class of machine learning algorithms inspired by the structure and functioning of the human brain. They are composed of interconnected artificial neurons, or nodes, organized in layers.

The basic building block of a neural network is an artificial neuron, which takes input, applies mathematical operations to it, and produces an output. These neurons are connected through weighted connections, forming a network. The connections between neurons allow information to flow and enable the network to learn patterns and make predictions.

Conclusion

As AI continues to evolve, it will increasingly play a role in our professional and personal lives. The impact of AI is complex and multi-faceted, and businesses must be aware of its potential for transformational change. CEOs must prepare themselves and their organizations for the inevitable changes that will come with the adoption of AI in leadership and business.

How to found the perfect match ?

When two individuals like each other, find something common and decide to meet, this is term as dating. Dating is a stepping stone to getting into a relationship. This may or may not cultivate into a relationship. It’s not as simple as it sounds, depending on if it’s a casual dating or looking for something serious. Before we date or even before we start to think about dating, we all have a checklist or qualities that we would like our future prospect to have. In today’s gen z era, when everything is online, we have put our preferences, likes and dislikes on dating apps or it’s always best to go traditional, to look for a partner in the old fashioned way which is through blind dates and even at random encounters in the most unlikely places. How do I find perfect match, the minute we start thinking of a partner.

By Archana Nilesh Gandhi

Note: It's important to remember that no single person is going to be 100% of what you're looking for.

 SELF-REFLECTION

Before seeking a partner, its better to have clear understanding of yourself. Awareness of ones values, interests and goals, will help one find someone who aligns with them.

PAST EXPERIENCES

Reflect and use past insights to learn from. This will help make sane decisions.

 SOCIAL NETWORKING

Engaging in activities that align with your interest and values will increase one’s chances of meeting like minded individuals.

BE HONEST

Who wouldn’t want to be in a relationship with an honest person? Relationships built on trust are the best ones. Its easier to put this quality on list then to actually find one. Also, we need to keep in mind, in just first meeting, all cards cant be revealed, but that doesn’t mean for rest of the dates you keep guessing what's next about the partner. Always take note of the little details in their life so if they slip up, you’ll immediately know if they are being dishonest or not.

GOAL ORIENTED

By goal oriented, we don’t mean having a hefty pay-check job. Even if a person doesn’t have a high paid job, they can still be a good partner in life, so long as they have a goal in mind, realistic one. Relationships aren’t solely about romance and love, they are also about responsibility and finance.

NO HURRY

When everything hovering around us is moving so fast, one shouldn’t hurry getting into a relationship. Initially everything looks bed of roses till the tough times arise. One must take time, other one shouldn’t push, give time and space for things to fall in place.

FEEL GOOD

Social media influences us in both good and bad way. What comes up in reel world, does not have to be true or fact always. Its expectation v/s reality. Who would want to be with a person, who see’s them as somebody else?

VALUES TIME

A perfect person, is the one who understands and values, not just his but your time and commitment as well. A boundary, that needs to be respected and not crossed. Invasion of personal space leads to break ups.

COMMON INTEREST

It’s wrong to expect a 100% match when it comes to common interest. But there will surely be a few to take a note. It could be a passion for movies, cooking, traveling, reading or anything. This is a good start to a relationship when someone you dating also shares same interest like you. It’s also good to find a person who has different interest from you. Its good to explore each other’s hobbies over time. It would also be nice if you and your significant other begin exploring other hobbies that you can start together.

 EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT

Logic doesn’t work in all scenarios. It works the best when a person understands and is there during emotional needs. A better understanding makes a relationship tough.

GIVE SPACE

Who wants to be with a person who questions you all the time, is over possessive, doesn’t trust? Its difficult for both person and relationship to survive and grow.

COMMUNICATION MATTERS

For any relationship to get stronger, communication is the key. Any misunderstanding, needs to be cleared. Relationship cannot be based on assumption.

 PERTINENCE PAYS

Every individual reacts in a different manner. Two impulsive individuals are likely to drift apart. In such situations, patience plays a major role. Knowing one’s personality and then opting for someone who can sail through reactive times is the key. Over expecting patience from one only, will also ruin.

 CONCLUDING FACTOR

Finding a perfect partner is a deeply personal and subjective matter, as what works for one person may not work for another. However, above are some general guidelines that may help oneself in ones pursuit for a partner to live with for life!

The Gender Gap in Technology By Anushka Maitra

The gender gap in technology is a term used to describe the disparity between men and women in the field of technology. This gap can be seen in terms of representation, pay, and opportunities.

According to the National Center for Women & Information Technology:  women make up only 26% of the computing workforce in the United States. This number has remained stagnant for the past several years. The gap is even wider in certain tech sectors, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, where women make up only 12% and 11% of the workforce, respectively.

The gender gap in technology can have a number of negative consequences. First, it limits the pool of talent available to tech companies. Second, it can lead to a lack of diversity in tech products and services. Third, it can make it more difficult for women to advance in their careers in tech.

There are a number of factors that contribute to the gender gap in technology, like-

Gender stereotypes : From a young age, girls are often discouraged from pursuing interests in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). They are told that these subjects are too difficult or that they are not suited for them.

Lack of role models: There are still relatively few women in leadership positions in tech. This can make it difficult for young girls to see themselves in these roles and to aspire to them.

Unconscious bias: Even when women are qualified for tech jobs, they may be passed over for promotions or other opportunities due to unconscious bias.

Work-life balance: Women are often still the primary caregivers in families, which can make it more difficult for them to balance work and family responsibilities. This can make it more challenging for them to stay in tech careers.

There are a number of things that can be done to close the gender gap in technology. These include:

Promoting STEM education for girls: Starting at a young age, girls need to be encouraged to pursue interests in STEM. This can be done through programs and initiatives that expose them to these subjects and that help them develop the skills they need to succeed in tech careers.

Providing more role models: There needs to be more women in leadership positions in tech. This will help to show young girls that they can have successful careers in this field.

Addressing unconscious bias: Companies need to take steps to address unconscious bias in their hiring and promotion practices. This can be done through training programs and by creating more inclusive workplaces.

Advocate for policies that support women in tech: Governments and other organizations can advocate for policies that support women in tech, such as paid parental leave, affordable childcare, and flexible work arrangements.

Raise awareness of the gender gap in technology: The more people who are aware of this issue, the more likely we are to take action to address it. We can raise awareness through public awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, and by talking about the issue in our everyday lives.

Closing the gender gap in technology is a challenge, but it is one that we must address. By working together, we can create a more inclusive tech industry that benefits everyone.
